This is an exciting and challenging role to work with a global pharmaceutical company which would suit an individual currently working in a scientific/clinical research environment or a medical doctor/pharmacist looking for a position within a pharmaceutical company. These positions are field based roles and can be based UK wide.

There are currently five Medical Science Manager teams working in the UK medical department in different therapeutic areas. The current roles are within the oncology, CNS or CV therapy areas and the primary role is to develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders as well as providing expert scientific and clinical information to Healthcare Professionals and internal colleagues.

This is a key role which involves collaboration with colleagues throughout the UK affiliate company as well as in other markets. You would be required to use your scientific and clinical experience and knowledge in order to communicate information related to products within the cardiovascular and metabolics portfolio.

The roles are field based, focused around a number of key centres in the South West, East Midlands, North London, Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire for CNS. The North, the south and the midlands for CV, and the South West and Home Counties for oncology. The ideal candidate would be expected to spend 70% of their time working in the field visiting Key Opinion Leaders and also be prepared for frequent travel to the head office for internal meetings and training.

Requirements

Medical Science Managers will have a higher Science degree, Pharmacy degree, Medical Degree or PhD and ideally have some industry experience.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
Scientific capability to interpret and communicate clinical data
Understanding of the structure and delivery of healthcare in the National Health Service
Commercial awareness, preferably pharmaceutical industry experience
Experience in CNS, Oncology or CV is preferred
