With the increasing popularity of cell phones, more and more phone owners begin to feel less differentiated from everybody else than they originally felt simply by carrying a phone. Luckily for them, now these people can have access to numerous ringtones, which serve as near- indispensable trademarks in their daily lives. From my point of view, ringtones serve mainly in the following aspects. First, it tells individuals apart whenever it comes to cell phone ringing. Replacing the invariable tones canned by manufacturers with those chosen by consumers, each and every one feels kind of special, because they are not carrying something that bears no difference from other's, instead they carry their respective identities around. Individuality is what most people pursue today; and with handpicked ringtones of their own, people actually savor the delicate pleasure of being themselves.
